Join our great team! We are a 33-bed Short Term and Skilled Nursing Facility with an in-house therapy department, no contract therapy company in search of a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant who will be responsible for providing physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. Our smaller setting allows us to provide personalized care while creating strong, family-like atmosphere for both our patients and our staff.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current NJ licensure as Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical therapy services to residents within the Physical Therapist’s established Plan of Care, in accordance with NJ State Practice Act, Company procedures, Therapy Department procedures and productivity standards under the direction of the Physical Therapist.

  • Work with other members of the rehabilitation team and Staff to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.

  • Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program to maximize independence, safety and functional ability.

  • Adhere to Company procedures regarding documentation and billing of physical therapy services.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in the implementation and follow-up of resident therapy programs.

  • Conduct treatment according to the established treatment plan.

  • Monitor resident’s response to intervention and discuss adaptation of treatment with the Physical Therapist to attain goals in accordance with established plan of care and physician orders.

  • Participate in resident, family/responsible party and staff education by instructing on physical therapy procedures, strategies, recommendations and/ or program to enhance carry over outside of therapy sessions and in preparation for discontinuation of therapy services.

  • Communicate and interact professionally and effectively with residents/family members and coworkers.
