Position Overview

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting facility systems and infrastructure within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems, utilities, equipment, and general facility components to ensure safe and reliable operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing facilities and is comfortable working with electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, lighting, and general facility issues.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting involving motors, switches, breakers, lighting, outlets, and related components.
  • Maintain compressed air, water, ventilation, exhaust, and other facility utility systems.
  • Perform general carpentry, drywall, painting, concrete, and building repairs as needed.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and repair of facility equipment.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
  • Assist outside contractors with facility repairs, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and accurately document completed work.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Support facility improvement and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of facilities maintenance or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, metals, forging, machining, or another industrial environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete general building repairs.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read basic electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
  • Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining heavy industrial facilities.
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with CMMS or preventative maintenance software.
  • Forklift, aerial lift, or scissor lift certification.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and lockout/tagout requirements.
