Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will work closely with the Maintenance Director to assist with the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the facility, grounds, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, patching, and general building repairs
• Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the facility
• Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance and safety concerns
• Assist with repairs and upkeep of resident rooms and common areas
• Help maintain the safety and overall appearance of the facility and exterior grounds
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs
• Assist with room setups for meetings, activities, and facility events as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, infection control guidelines, and facility policies
• Assist with lawn care and seasonal maintenance tasks as needed
• Help ensure equipment and building systems remain operational and properly maintained
• Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, healthcare, or residential setting is a plus
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize maintenance needs
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position
• Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude are required
