Position Summary
We are hiring motivated Solar Installers to join our residential installation crews. As a Solar Installer, you will work alongside experienced Crew Leads and Roof Leads to install rooftop solar panel systems on homes. This is an excellent entry point into the fast-growing solar and renewable energy industry — whether you're an experienced installer looking for a great team or someone with construction/roofing experience ready to break into solar. We provide hands-on training and a clear path for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
%CF; Assist in the installation of residential rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems including panels, racking, mounting hardware, and electrical components
%CF; Carry, stage, and position solar panels, racking materials, conduit, wiring, and other installation equipment on rooftops and job sites
%CF; Perform roof work including laying out arrays, securing mounting hardware, and assisting with roof penetrations and flashing under Roof Lead direction
%CF; Pull and secure electrical conduit, wiring, and junction boxes per engineering plans and NEC code
%CF; Assist with ground-level work including trenching, equipment pad preparation, and inverter/electrical panel installations
%CF; Follow all OSHA safety standards, fall protection protocols, and company safety procedures at all times
%CF; Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site throughout the workday
%CF; Load and unload materials and equipment from company vehicles
%CF; Use power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively
%CF; Provide a positive, professional customer experience — represent Better Earth with courtesy and respect on every job site
%CF; Complete daily safety checklists, job reports, and documentation as directed by Crew Lead
%CF; Drive company vehicles to and from job sites as needed
Requirements
%CF; Previous solar installation experience — REQUIRED
%CF; Must be at least 21 years of age
%CF; Valid state driver's license (clean driving record preferred)
%CF; Ability to lift, pull, and push equipment and materials to complete assigned job tasks
%CF; Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday
%CF; Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops for extended periods
%CF; Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work on feet for long periods of time
%CF; Ability to work in extreme environments including hot sun, cold weather, rain, and crawl spaces
%CF; Great attention to detail
%CF; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
%CF; Excellent customer service skills
%CF; Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
%CF; Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
%CF; Prior experience in solar panel installation, roofing, general construction, or electrical work
%CF; OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 a plus)
%CF; Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment
%CF; Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring
%CF; Knowledge of fall protection and ladder safety best practices
%CF; CPR / First Aid certification
%CF; Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
