Job Description
Position SummaryThe CPI Instructor coordinates and delivers on-site and classroom training for new hires and existing staff. The role ensures facility compliance with safety regulations, teaches evidence-based de-escalation methods, and maintains institutional standards centered on care, welfare, safety, and security. Key Responsibilities*Deliver authorized Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention courses.*Train staff on verbal de-escalation, risk assessment, and safe physical intervention techniques.*Track training compliance, attendance, and testing records via the internal Learning Management System (LMS).*Update training materials and adapt curricula to meet changing regulatory and facility needs.*Partner with facility and operations leaders to lower incident rates and review safety protocols. Qualifications & Requirements*Certification: Valid, active certification as an authorized instructor by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)*Experience: Minimum 2 years working in healthcare, education, or behavioral health, including 1 year providing direct training.*Education: High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.*Skills: Strong public speaking, adult education delivery, and conflict resolution capabilities.*Travel: Ability to travel locally or regionally to various facilities with a valid driver's license.
