General Description
Assists Foreman with project management needs; mentors Helpers, and assists with the completion of electrical projects. Works at construction sites, factories, businesses, and residences. Ability to run a job in the absence of Foreman.
Primary Responsibilities
- Installs electrical components, systems and equipment as required by scope of projects.
- Mentors Helpers and provides exceptional support to Foreman through workmanship and suggestions on completing assigned projects timely and efficiently.
- Assists Foreman in assessing equipment, materials and labor needed to complete projects and communicates needs to Foreman.
- Consistently works within proper safety regulations and rules.
- Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets and assembly schematic drawings as needed.
- Communicates with employees, co-workers, customers and other trades with respect and professionalism.
- Confers with Foreman and makes recommendations on projects.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime or adjusted hours as needed based on project demands.
- Proven self-motivation and considerable desire to continue development in the electrical field including but not limited to Apprenticeship and Journeyman programs/certifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years electrical industry experience
- Must have been employed as an electrician within the past 18 months
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical operations and components and possess OSHA 10 certification which is to be renewed every 5 years.
- Strong working knowledge of single phase and three phase wiring, motors, programmable controls, circuits and National Electrical Code & NFPA rules
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licensing Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, stooping, crawling
- Lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be physically capable of pushing and pulling with force to manipulate wires in conduits, use and manipulate power tools and equipment
- Use your hands to handle, control, feel or use objects, tools, or controls; significant fine finger dexterity
- Repeat the same movements
- Climb and balance on ladders or scaffolds at various heights
- Work in spaces that may be confining such as attics and crawl spaces.
- Walk or run for long periods of time
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Work in extreme temperatures and some hazardous conditions
