As a valued member of our therapy team, you'll work alongside an experienced Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence, improve daily function, and enhance their overall quality of life in a supportive skilled nursing environment.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides treatment interventions, implements individualized care plans, and monitors resident progress while promoting safe, effective rehabilitation.

Responsibilities
  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

  • Assist residents in improving functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and independence.

  • Accurately document treatment sessions, resident progress, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies.

  • Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to achieve the best possible resident outcomes.

  • Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on therapy techniques, safety, and home exercise programs.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Travel to nearby affiliated facilities as needed to meet resident care needs.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Current state license or registration as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to safely assist residents with transfers and mobility, including lifting up to 50 pounds when necessary.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
