Molded Dimensions is a leader in engineered elastomer and urethane solutions. If you have 2–3 years of manufacturing experience and want to own projects, accelerate improvements, and help launch new products in a fast-paced production environment, this role is for you.
A Day in This Role- Start on the floor, partnering with production to spot issues and stabilize processes.
- Dig into performance data, identify trends, and kick off Lean/Six Sigma countermeasures.
- Facilitate a kaizen, update standard work, and validate a cycle-time improvement.
- Join an NPD design review to assess manufacturability, tooling, and process risks.
- Troubleshoot a quality concern, implement CAPA, and verify process capability.
- Update routings/BOMs and reports in our ERP (IQMS preferred) to maintain data integrity.
Reporting to: Director of Engineering. You’ll collaborate daily with operations, quality, engineering, and production teams.
What You’ll Tackle- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality.
- Lead/support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Analyze production data for trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support on the shop floor.
- Troubleshoot issues; drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support capability studies, equipment validation, and cycle time reductions.
- Partner across functions to launch new products, including process design, tooling, and feasibility.
- Support PPAPs, first article inspections, and production trials for smooth launches.
- Use ERP (IQMS preferred) to manage production data, BOMs, routings, and inventory accuracy.
- Improve ERP/MES data integrity; generate KPI reports to guide decisions.
- Contribute to plant initiatives, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
- Assist with capital projects from specification through installation and validation.
- Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years in manufacturing with hands-on, shop-floor engagement.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement methods.
- Familiarity with IQMS or similar ERP systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Background in rubber, urethane, or related manufacturing environments.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
- Knowledge of material science and regulatory/compliance standards.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process control tools.
