Job Description
A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is needed in Kissimmee, FL to join a 404-bed, Joint Commission accredited regional medical center that serves Osceola County. The hospital offers a broad scope of services including a Heart & Vascular Institute, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric ER, and a Graduate Medical Education Program.
The role. Working under general supervision, the RRT sets up and administers both routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures for patients across all age groups. A significant component of the role involves the application and operation of acute care ventilators for continuous short- and long-term mechanical ventilation. Therapists are expected to work in a self-directed manner when the full-time Team Leader is not present, maintaining all department and hospital records and entering accurate therapy documentation into the hospital information system.
What we're looking for.
- 1 year of RRT experience
- NBRC and State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- Completion of a two-year AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
Schedule. Night shift with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $27.42 - $36.95/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
