Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Cedar Hills Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide high-quality patient care and therapy services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients as directed by licensed therapists, including:

    • Performing patient care and related activities

    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation

    • Communicating with patients, families, and healthcare team members

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and team-building approach with patients, families, and staff

  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining the treatment area and department

  • Participate in in-service training programs and continuing education activities

  • Travel or float between facilities as needed

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations

Requirements:

  • Current registration/licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant

  • Maintain documentation of supervision per state guidelines

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, including walking, stooping, bending, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and lifting

  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position

  • Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately

  • Function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with patients, clients, and team members

  • Be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability

  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility

Work Conditions:

  • Work in a well-lighted and ventilated office and therapy area

  • Subject to falls, burns from equipment, infectious diseases, odors, and other hazards

  • May be required to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily

  • Mobile phone use is only permitted during break and non-paid allocated lunch times
