We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and dependable Labor & Staffing Coordinator to join our skilled nursing team. This position is ideal for a professional with hands-on experience staffing a nursing home and a strong understanding of AHCA requirements and long-term care staffing regulations.
The ideal candidate will understand that effective staffing directly impacts resident care, employee satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll DoDevelop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
Monitor staffing levels based on census, resident acuity, and facility needs.
Respond quickly to call-outs, no-shows, vacations, leaves of absence, and other staffing challenges.
Coordinate replacement staff and adjust schedules to maintain appropriate coverage.
Work closely with the Director of Nursing, Administrator, HR, and nursing leadership regarding staffing needs.
Monitor staffing patterns and help ensure compliance with AHCA regulations and applicable nursing facility staffing requirements.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, call-outs, PTO, vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, and other employee absences.
Assist management with identifying staffing and attendance issues and recommending appropriate solutions.
Communicate scheduling changes, staffing expectations, and facility policies clearly and professionally.
Assist with orientation and in-service training schedules as needed.
Maintain accurate staffing documentation and reports using Excel, Word, and scheduling/timekeeping software.
Required:
Active CNA Certification is required.
Previous experience coordinating or scheduling staff in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, rehabilitation center, or similar healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of staffing RNs, LPNs, and CNAs in a long-term care environment.
Working knowledge of AHCA regulations and nursing home staffing requirements.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage last-minute staffing changes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ,and Word.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
Previous experience as a Staffing Coordinator
Experience with Hosted Time or similar healthcare scheduling/timekeeping software.
Familiarity with long-term care staffing regulations, payroll/timekeeping processes, and employee attendance policies.
You understand that staffing is more than filling a schedule—it directly impacts resident care, employee satisfaction, and facility compliance.
