Job Description
Day Shift: $20/hr 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Night Shift: $20/hr + $2 night differential 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Shifts are on a rotating 2-week schedule:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours)
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours)
As a Pelletizer Operator, you will be a key player in our closed-loop manufacturing process, converting plastic regrind into uniform pellets suitable for downstream applications like injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion.
Role and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
-Forklift Operation: Safely operate sit-down forklifts to streamline the loading and unloading of gaylords and other bulk material containers.
-Pelletizer Operation: Conduct end-to-end pelletizing processes by feeding regrind material into the pelletizer, ensuring effective melting, shaping, and cooling phases to produce high-quality pellets.
-Data Entry: Perform real-time data tracking for inventory management and material-flow optimization.
-Machine Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance activities, such as filter changes and machine lubrication, to ensure the long-term reliability and efficiency of the pelletizer.
-Material Management: Conduct material transitions and maintain a comprehensive daily log of key production metrics like regrind consumption and pellet output.
-Labeling: Generate and affix precise labels to material batches and finished products, ensuring traceability.
-Quality Control: Implement QC protocols to monitor pellet uniformity and other quality metrics, initiating corrective actions when deviations occur.
-Attendance: Uphold consistent attendance to ensure seamless production cycles and maximize throughput.
-Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols, including PPE requirements, to mitigate operational risks in a high-temperature, fast-paced environment.
-Additional Responsibilities: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in training sessions, reporting anomalies, and embracing organizational initiatives for quality enhancement.
Required Skills / Abilities / Competencies
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Forklift experience 2-3 years.
-1-2 years of Machine Operator experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing
-Proficiency in basic math and metric system measurements
-Authorization to work in the U.S.
Mental/Physical Requirement
-Capacity to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
-Stamina to stand throughout the entire shift.
-Comfortability working in elevated heat conditions.
