In-house therapy team, smaller daily caseloads with emphasis on optimizing time with patients, high acuity, and program and certification support!

Sterling County Nursing Home in located in 309 5th St, Sterling City, TX 76951 provides short- and long-term nursing and rehabilitation services to the senior population in our community and surrounding communities. Our therapy department is fully in-house and provides therapists/assistants with flexibility. We offer 250% matching for retirement and is fully vested in 8 years if full time employee. 75% of health insurance premiums are paid for if full time employee. Daily gas reimbursement is available.

Speech Therapist Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Speech Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients. If CFY, must be under supervision as needed from the SLP clinical supervisor (SLP clinical supervisor available upon starting).

  • Assist as needed with patient screens for Speech Therapy.

  • Communicate progress and any barriers toward SLP goals with interdisciplinary team members.

  • Complete timely Speech therapy documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, facility, and payor requirements.

  • Assist with maintaining both the rehab gym equipment and treatment area in a safe manner, using good infection prevention methods.

  • Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding each speech therapy patient’s specific plan of care and recommendations for follow up.

  • Maintain productivity standards as expected by Director of Rehab or Administrator.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Current Texas licensure as a Speech Therapist or Speech Therapy CFY
