Truck Upfit MIG Fabrication Welder
Job Description
Step onto our shop floor in Trenton and start your day reviewing drawings for a new truck upfit. You’ll prep materials, set up your station, and lay precise MIG welds to assemble sub-frames and mount equipment to spec. Throughout the day you’ll move between fabrication, installation, and inspection — always working safely, efficiently, and to AWS standards. Your craftsmanship will be the difference between good and exceptional.
What You’ll Do- Execute MIG welding on sub-assemblies, full assemblies, and mounted truck equipment in alignment with AWS guidelines.
- Translate blueprints, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions into accurate, on-time installations.
- Operate and care for welding and fabrication tools, including oxy/acetylene and carbon arc cutting equipment, along with common hand and power tools.
- Verify weld quality and final installation integrity, meeting safety, quality, and dimensional requirements.
- Complete production records, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of technical experience and a solid mechanical aptitude.
- Hands-on MIG welding and metal fabrication tool experience.
- Ability to read and apply blueprints, drawings, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
- Comfort with math used on the floor — measurements, ratios, geometry — to solve practical problems.
- Hourly range: $29.00–$35.00
