Machine Operator: Freeport, Illinois
Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Machine Operator (Side Winder) to work full-time on 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:00pm). As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized equipment used to wind materials into finished products.
Responsibilities of the Machine Operator (Side Winder):
- Set up, operate, and maintain side winder machinery.
- Wind materials such as wire, yarn, or synthetic fibers onto bobbins, spools, or reels.
- Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality output.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using strong problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively to meet production goals and deadlines.
Machine Operator (Side Winder) Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with complex machinery such as CNC equipment, grinders, drawing machines, or laser machines preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn specialized equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to train on 1st shift for 4–8 weeks before transitioning to 2nd shift.
Pay for Machine Operator (Side Winder): Starting at $23.00/hour.
