As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary team, working closely with Physical Therapists, Rehabilitation Professionals, and other healthcare experts to deliver patient-centered care.
Position Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will be responsible for assisting Physical Therapists in evaluating, planning, and implementing physical therapy services to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disability. Key Responsibilities:
Assist Physical Therapists in evaluating patients' physical abilities, needs, and goals through assessments and screenings
Assist in developing individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and clinical best practices
Provide direct physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance, and mobility interventions, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
Train patients, families, and caregivers on safe mobility, home exercise programs, and use of assistive devices
Monitor and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other therapy professionals to ensure coordinated care
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and professional practice standards
Supervise and guide Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) as appropriate
Qualifications:
Current and active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in Minnesota
High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's or bachelor's degree in physical therapy assisting or related field preferred
Strong clinical skills with knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, equipment, and safety standards
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Prior experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred
