Shift: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour ($45,760 - $54,080 / year)

We are a premier precision manufacturing organization supplying high-performance components and mechanical assemblies across specialized industrial markets operating out of a facility in Akron, OH.

Assembler Role

The Assembler ensures all machined components meet final drawing specifications, surface finishes, and delivery schedules. This position exists to bridge final machining, detail finishing, precision assembly, and protective packaging so that defect-free products ship reliably and on time.

Assembler Responsibilities

  • Clean, deburr, polish, and blend machined metallic components using hand tools, die grinders, sanders, and wire brushes

  • Assemble machined parts into finished units per engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of material

  • Protect finished, sealing, and bearing surfaces from scratches, dings, or handling damage throughout production

  • Break edges and create required chamfers, radii, and specified surface finishes without altering critical machined dimensions

  • Apply part identification, including laser marking, stamping, or tagging per specifications

  • Verify part numbers, revisions, and quantities against job packets and packing lists prior to final packaging

  • Package components using protective wrap, rust preventatives, foam, and custom crating to prevent shipping damage

  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and surface finish gauges against drawing requirements

  • Identify and segregate suspect or nonconforming material immediately to prevent shipment of defective product

  • Maintain organized work areas and operate heavy material handling equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts

Assembler Reporting Relationships

This role reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The position has no direct reports.

About You

  • Possess experience in precision metal finishing, hand tool deburring, or mechanical assembly

  • Demonstrate ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and bills of material

  • Exhibit proficiency with basic precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and surface gauges

  • Show hands-on experience using die grinders, sanders, buffers, and pneumatic hand tools safely

  • Maintain strong attention to detail regarding shipping documentation, part numbers, and order counts

  • Display familiarity with industrial packaging materials, rust prevention, and safe part preparation techniques

  • Work comfortably with overhead cranes and industrial material handling equipment

  • Hold physical capability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted and maneuver heavy assemblies safely

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Stand, bend, stoop, and move continuously throughout an 8-hour shift

  • Perform manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination tasks for precision bench work

  • Lift parts weighing up to 35 lbs unassisted, using team lifting or overhead crane rigging for heavier workpieces

  • Work in manufacturing environment conditions, including moderate noise levels, metallic dust, and chemical rust preventatives

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye, hearing, and hand protection at all times on the shop floor
