Job Description
The Adventure Coordinator is central to the coordination and delivery of community based Adventure Therapy/Experiential Learning programming. The program serves youth involved with the Departments of Children and Families and Mental Health. Adventure programming also provides adaptive programming for youth and adults on the Autism Spectrum. WILLD is a community-based adventure therapy program funded by the Department of Public Health, provides intervention and treatment for Youth/Young Adults at risk for or currently involved with substance use/misuse.
The Coordinator is responsible to oversee the provision of Adventure programming in the Central Mass corridor. The Coordinator works with referral sources and the team to attend to the three domains of home, school/work (as indicated) and community to help develop and maintain a supportive web of care. The Coordinator demonstrates a commitment to the empowerment of children, families, and adolescents to realize their potential. Incorporate the agency philosophy of systemic thinking. Use resources from the community and agency with awareness of social policies and concerns for clients. Facilitate the integrity of the family while ensuring the safety of all family members. The Coordinator is responsible to work with the Director and Assistant Director to manage program service delivery, budget, staff training and supervision and other Division Leadership responsibilities. This position sits on the Extended Leadership Team as a middle manager role.
The qualified candidate must demonstrate an understanding of or readiness to learn trauma informed care. This position must demonstrate an understanding of impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on family systems; substance use or addiction; mental health and trauma; cultural identity; gender identity; high risk behaviors and the impact of collateral trauma and marginalization. Strong relationship-building skills required. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license, reliable and safe transportation required.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work or closely related field and at last five years experience working with youth and families. Excellent communication and computer skills required. This is a full-time position located in Central Massachusetts and will include community-based travel and implementation. Purpose:
The CFSS Adventure Coordinator provides and oversees delivery of strength-based services to young people and their families toward their goals through adventure-based/experiential-learning opportunities. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between the program and funding sources
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate all Adventure services provided by LUK.
- Supervise program staff, including responsibility for evaluating and disciplining program staff.
- Participate in the hiring/firing decisions concerning program staff, making recommendations to the Component Director
- Oversee program risk management protocol including but not limited to: safety and gear inspection, trip planning, evacuation procedures and staff:client ratios
- Develop mechanisms to promote client and community involvement within the program.
- Balance the needs of program outcome with solid fiscal management, including participation in budget development and review.
- Ensure timely and thorough completion and submission of all required documentation by staff, including billing.
- Partner with Finance to ensure consistent operation of billing structures and functions.
- Lead agency staff to ensure the successful development, implementation and success of program outcomes. Promotes and participates in quality assurance activities.
- Marketing and promoting of these services.
- Provide crisis management and intervention as appropriate.
- If Master’s in related field will participate in CFSS, BHS and CES On-Call rotation
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or closely related field
- 5 years experience working with children, adolescents, families and at risk youth. Supervision and/or management experience preferred.

Job Location:
The CFSS Case Manager will work in Central Massachusetts with access to office space in Boylston. Transportation required. Ability to work remotely on occasion.
Salary Range and Benefits:
Pay Range: 7B. Salary Range: $58,000 – $62,000. Salary ranges within each pay grade are based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
