Role Summary

As a Forming Operator, you will be responsible for operating horizontal forging machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining our standards of excellence.

***$3,000 Sign-On Bonus***

  • Position Type: Hourly, Full Time

  • Flexible shift options:

    • Weekdays | Monday – Friday | 5:00am – 3:30pm

    • Weeknights | Monday - Friday | 3:30pm – 2:00am

    • Weekend Days | Friday - Sunday | 6:00am - 6:00pm

    • Weekend Nights | Friday - Sunday | 6:00pm - 6:00am

  • Pay Range:

    • $20 - $22.00/hour for Mon - Fri shifts

    • $20.40 - $24.90/hour for Fri - Sun shifts

    • Plus, $4.00/hour shift premium for night shifts

  • Work Location: Hotform (7034 IL Rt 84, Savanna, IL 61074)

  • Reports to: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up tooling, operate, and perform changeovers on forging machines to produce components according to specifications

  • Ensure products meet our strict quality control requirements

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and make necessary adjustments

  • Use an overhead crane to load raw material onto machine

  • Interpret blueprints and use basic measuring instruments

  • Complete all necessary documents accurately and thoroughly

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area in accordance with 5S standards

  • Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Competencies
  • Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through previous experience or hobbies

  • Ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions

  • Ability to take initiative, demonstrating the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion without supervision

  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with team members and internal customers

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Proficiency in basic computer and mathematical skills

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous industrial manufacturing experience is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps

  • History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations
