Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a Clinical Veterinarian in Sacramento, California. This is a full-time permanent position at a nationally recognized preclinical research center specializing in nonhuman primate (NHP) studies.We are seeking a Clinical Veterinarian to join a growing research facility that began as a CDC quarantine center and has since evolved into a center of excellence for early discovery biopharmaceutical research. This facility focuses on non-GLP, general therapy, early discovery studies, and model development using nonhuman primates. The work environment is collaborative and flexible, with a team of approximately 35 employees and access to a national network of large animal research sites.Position Details:Job Title: Clinical VeterinarianLocation: Sacramento, CaliforniaSchedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, with on-call rotationEmployment Type: PermanentKey Responsibilities:Provide veterinary medical, surgical, dental, and imaging servicesLead care for complex medical cases and consult with study directors on proceduresParticipate in protocol development and preventive medicine programsTrain and supervise staff on technical procedures and humane animal careMaintain regulatory compliance and serve as a resource for IACUC protocolsAssist in development of animal models and scientific research strategySelect animals for research protocols based on study requirementsSupport SOP development related to veterinary and colony healthConduct training in husbandry, veterinary care, safety, and emergency protocolsProvide after-hours emergency veterinary coverage as neededAuthor scientific publications and represent the facility at industry conferencesRequirements:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institutionMinimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical veterinary medicineWillingness to work with nonhuman primates (NHPs); prior NHP experience is a plusActive veterinary license in at least one U.S. stateMust obtain California veterinary license within one year of hireFor graduates of non-AVMA accredited veterinary schools: ECFVG certification requiredDACLAM certification is a plus, but not required (support provided for exam preparation)Benefits:Continuing education support, including study materials, exam cost reimbursement, and flexible study timeMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer contributionTravel support to attend scientific and industry conferencesAccess to national network of large animal research collaborators
