Job Summary:

We are seeking a Part-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house team at Tampico Healthcare Center, a beautiful skilled nursing facility in Walnut Creek, CA. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients as directed by licensed Occupational therapists

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and team-building approach with all patients, clients, and team members

  • Maintain productivity standards as determined by your supervisor and clinical needs

  • Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations

  • Treat patients according to treatment plans

  • Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines

  • Record daily treatment charges per approved billing guidelines

  • Instruct families and nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs as directed by staff therapists

  • Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans

COTA Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations for home modifications and adaptive equipment with training as needed

  • Ensure all treatment delivered is in accordance with the established plan of care

  • Monitor patient response to treatment intervention and modify treatment approach and directive as clinically appropriate with IDT collaboration

  • Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers

  • Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care is provided

  • Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely and complies with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements

  • Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures

  • Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or greater in Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License

  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards

Salary: $45 - $55
