Title: Civil - Staff Engineering Technician - Water
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite - 5 days/week; must reside within 50 miles of the Phoenix office)
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Compensation: $38-$43/hour

Overview:
A company is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) group within the Government & Communities Market Sector. In this onsite role based in Phoenix, AZ, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams supporting Water and Industrial Water infrastructure design projects. You will be responsible for creating and modifying site development plans, including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities, using industry-standard design tools to support critical infrastructure projects.
Job Duties:
  • Develop, modify, and maintain technical drawings, base maps, site plans, and project documentation using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Support site development design efforts, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.
  • Perform design calculations, detailed material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and project records.
  • Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and the BV Quality Program.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design personnel to exchange project information, define work assignments, and maintain project schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other engineering professionals and junior technicians to maintain output quality and consistency.
  • Support field activities and plant start-up or control system programming as required.
