Harness Builder
Job Description
Innovative Aerosystems is seeking a detail-oriented Harness Builder to support the assembly of high-quality wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical systems used in advanced aerospace and defense applications. This position offers the opportunity to work with precision components in a quality-focused manufacturing environment alongside a skilled and collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Assemble wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and related electrical components
- Perform wire stripping, crimping, routing, termination, and lacing in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
- Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Set up and operate automated assembly equipment
- Utilize manual and powered hand tools safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Support continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in harness assembly, cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience working in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to use manual and powered hand tools
- Experience in the aerospace, aircraft avionics, defense, or electronics manufacturing industries
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
- IPC-A-610 certification
- Experience working with automated assembly equipment
- Ability to work with small, detailed components
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday
- Ability to pass a vision examination
