Build the machines that build rocket motors

Nammo Energetics (NEI) is launching a new solid rocket motor manufacturing facility in Perry, Florida, adjacent to Nammo Perry Inc. We are accountable for its design, construction, qualification, and staffing, with initial production planned for 2027. From our downtown Perry office, you’ll help create, refine, and sustain automated and semi‑automated production equipment that enables safe, high‑quality, efficient output. Early in the role, you will also travel to Raufoss, Norway (within 12–18 months) to align with global engineering practices.

Role focus
  • Own full‑cycle equipment development: concept, 3D design, fabrication, runoff, and installation.
  • Engineer and validate fixtures, tooling, and secondary machines to exacting customer requirements.
  • Diagnose and improve mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for yield and throughput.
  • Author detailed procurement scopes in partnership with Quality, Process Engineering, and operations stakeholders.
  • Safeguard quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs; apply manufacturer instructions and internal procedures; engage special services when needed.
  • Estimate tooling costs and manage vendor relationships across the project lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment and support maintenance teams.
  • Model safety, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you’ve mastered
  • Engineering degree with 5+ years’ experience, or 15+ years in an equivalent capacity.
  • Advanced 3D CAD expertise.
  • Design and sustainment of automated assembly machinery.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including drawings and schematics.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic documentation.
  • End‑to‑end project execution, from concept through startup.
  • Understanding of basic PLC code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; organization and computer proficiency.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and a self‑starting mindset with deadline discipline.
On‑site schedule and travel

On‑site in Perry, FL. Travel required, including to Raufoss, Norway in the first 12–18 months.
