Civil Designer Position Description:The Civil Designer executes technical work assignments on municipal engineering projects individually or as part of a project team. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Assist Project Engineer/Project Manager to maintain established relationships with Municipal clientele.Provide design services on municipal capital improvement projectsAssist with preparing Federal and State regulatory permit applications and plansAssist with preparing bid plans and specificationsCompose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studiesPerform site investigations, construction observation and field reconnaissance Review subdivision and land development plans for compliance with applicable municipal ordinances Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related area Desired Qualifications:0-2 years of municipal engineering experienceEngineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skillsExceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentationsExperience in municipal engineering plan reviews and infrastructure designAbility to work independently and as part of a project teamDemonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candorAbility to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutionsProficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D) and hydraulics/hydrology software Essential Position Requirements:Occasional regional travel requiredAbility to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required Physical Demands:These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When work is performed outdoors on construction sites, conditions may vary by client and facility. Adherence to all health and safety requirements within the office, on construction sites and detailed within our Health & Safety Manual is imperative.
