Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team within a skilled nursing facility. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents improve mobility, restore function, and maximize independence. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills and a commitment to high-quality resident care.
Responsibilities:
Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training
Assist residents in improving strength, endurance, and safety with daily activities
Monitor resident responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
Accurately document treatments and resident progress in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs and safety techniques
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care
Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks effectively
Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA
CPR certification required
Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Recent graduates encouraged to apply
