Mountain Valley Plumbing, Heating & Cooling

Pay: $30 per hour + Installation Bonus Plan

Position Summary

Mountain Valley Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Installer to install heating and cooling systems in our customers' homes.

This position is for an HVAC professional who can perform residential installations safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship. You will work with a helper or other members of the installation team and will be responsible for helping ensure each project is completed correctly and the customer has an excellent experience.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays productive throughout the day, and wants to become an outstanding HVAC installer.

What You'll Do
  • Install residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, coils, and related HVAC equipment
  • Install ductless and other HVAC systems based on your training and experience
  • Remove existing HVAC equipment and prepare the jobsite for new equipment
  • Install refrigerant piping, condensate piping, venting, electrical components, and accessories
  • Make ductwork modifications necessary to complete installations
  • Start up and test newly installed equipment
  • Verify proper system operation before completing the job
  • Follow manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and Mountain Valley installation standards
  • Review equipment and materials before and during the installation to ensure the correct products are being installed
  • Work productively with apprentices and installation helpers
  • Keep the customer's home and work area clean and protected
  • Maintain an organized installation vehicle, tools, and materials
  • Complete required job documentation and installation photos
  • Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation
  • Identify installation problems early and communicate them to the appropriate team member
What We're Looking ForRequired
  • 2+ years of HVAC installation or related field experience, or at least 12 months of successful HVAC experience with Mountain Valley
  • EPA Section 608 certification
  • Experience installing residential HVAC equipment
  • Working knowledge of furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
  • Ability to use HVAC hand tools, power tools, meters, and installation equipment
  • Ability to read installation instructions and follow manufacturer requirements
  • Strong attention to workmanship and detail
  • Ability to work effectively with a helper or apprentice
  • Professional communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential HVAC installation
Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • High-efficiency furnace installation
  • Heat pump installation
  • Ductless and mini-split systems
  • Inverter and communicating HVAC equipment
  • Sheet metal and ductwork modification
  • Refrigerant piping and brazing
  • Equipment startup and commissioning
  • Boiler or hydronic installation

  • Consistently represents Mountain Valley well in the field
Compensation

$30 per hour plus opportunities to earn additional compensation through the Mountain Valley Installation Bonus Plan.
