Yonkers Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a motivated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Dietary Services Department. This position is responsible for supervising dietary staff, ensuring quality meal service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the Food Service Director in delivering exceptional nutritional care to our residents.

Position SummaryThe Food Service Supervisor assists in managing the daily operations of the Dietary Department by supervising staff, ensuring meals are prepared and served according to physician-ordered diets, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of cooks, dietary aides, and other dietary staff.
Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and served according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diet orders, and production schedules.
Monitor food quality, presentation, temperature, and portion control.
Ensure compliance with CMS, New York State Department of Health, OSHA, and local health department regulations.
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Assist with staff scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Monitor meal service to ensure residents receive meals accurately and on time.
Conduct routine kitchen inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and equipment functionality.
Assist with inventory management, ordering food and supplies, and controlling food costs.
Address resident concerns regarding meal quality and dining services.
Complete required documentation, including temperature logs, sanitation records, and production reports.
Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and Food Service Director to ensure compliance with therapeutic diets and resident nutritional needs.
Assist with departmental quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in Food Service Management or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food service, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, hospital, or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification.
Healthcare experience preferred
