TITLE: Energy Engineer – Commercial / MEP SystemsLOCATION: Middleburg Heights, OH (open to candidates within a 2-3 hour radius of Cleveland, OH, including Toledo, Dayton, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas)TRAVEL: Up to 25% for worksite visits; remote candidates must work on-site at BG Headquarters in Middleburg Heights, OH, at least once per week.ELIGIBILITY: U.S. Citizens only (Federal contractor requirement) ABOUT BREWER-GARRETTThe Brewer-Garrett Company is a facility solutions company dedicated to making buildings more energy-efficient through HVAC design, electrical upgrades, building automation systems, maintenance, and repair. ABOUT THE ROLEWe're seeking an Energy Engineer to join our growing Energy Services team. In this role, you'll support energy conservation and efficiency projects across a wide variety of facilities-including higher education, healthcare, government, K–12, and industrial environments. You'll conduct field audits, analyze utility data, build energy savings models, develop technical solutions, and collaborate closely with internal teams to support proposals and project execution. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys blending technical analysis with client interaction and creative problem-solving. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESConduct facility energy surveys and engage directly with customers throughout the audit processAnalyze utility data and summarize findings to support project developmentDevelop energy savings calculations, refine models, and validate assumptionsCreate clear technical write-ups, spreadsheets, and solution documentationCollaborate with project managers and estimators to support cost modelingSupport audit efforts as the audit lead or technical leadMaintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, vendors, and partnersStay up-to-date on industry technologies, best practices, and relevant certificationsSupport special projects, proposals, presentations, and training activitiesTravel occasionally for site visits, audits, and customer meetings QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field3+ years of experience in energy engineering, building systems, energy efficiency, or related fieldsWorking knowledge of energy systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial facilitiesStrong analytical and mathematical skillsHigh proficiency with Excel; strong Microsoft Office and PDF skillsExcellent communication skills-both written and verbalAbility to manage your own schedule, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and collaborativelyValid driver's license and reliable transportationE.M. certification is a plusMust be willing to travel occasionallyS. citizenship is required WHY JOIN USOpportunity to contribute to meaningful energy conservation and sustainability projectsCollaborative team environment with high visibility to leadershipA role that blends technical engineering, fieldwork, and client interactionProfessional development support, including training and relevant certificationsChance to work on diverse facilities and complex systemsStable and growing company with a strong reputation in Energy ServicesBG is proud to be an EOE and Drug-Free Workplace.
