A day in this role

Picture stepping onto the production floor with a clear plan. You begin by reviewing the day’s schedule, checking safety protocols, and preparing your station. You set up the assigned equipment, run test pieces, and make precise adjustments so the line hits quality targets from the first part off the machine. Throughout the shift, you monitor materials and product quality, complete changeovers, and keep accurate production logs—always following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.

When something doesn’t look or sound right, you use your mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic issues and get the line back up quickly. You wrap up by performing routine cleanings, shutting down equipment safely, and leaving your area organized for the next operator.

What you’ll do

• Set up, operate, and shut down production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Dial in machine settings, handle changeovers, and complete routine cleanings.
• Inspect materials and continuously monitor quality during runs.
• Troubleshoot simple mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
• Document production activity and adhere to all SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.

What helps you succeed

• Mechanical aptitude with comfort using basic hand tools.
• Ability to follow written instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
• Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus, not a must.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn and safely operate industrial equipment after hands-on training.
