Surgical Scrub Tech / Medical Assistant | Facial Plastic Surgery (NYC)

We are a boutique practice devoted entirely to the face, is seeking an experienced Surgical Scrub Technician / Medical Assistant to support rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation cases in our AAAASF-accredited in-office operating room. This is a dual role: scrubbing in on surgical days and assisting with clinical and medical assisting duties on non-surgical days.

This position requires hands-on operating room experience. Candidates without prior scrub tech experience will not be considered.


Responsibilities

Surgical days (scrub tech):


  • Scrub in and assist the surgeon on facial and nasal cases (rhinoplasty, facelift, and related procedures)
  • Set up, maintain, and break down the sterile field and back table
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments efficiently throughout the case
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and patient safety standards at all times
Sterile processing / instrument care:


  • Clean, decontaminate, inspect, package, and sterilize instruments in accordance with SPD protocols
  • Operate and monitor the autoclave, including correct cycle selection, loading, and documentation
  • Run and log biological and chemical indicators; maintain sterilization records for AAAASF compliance
  • Organize, track, and maintain instrument trays and sets
Non-surgical days (medical assisting):


  • Room patients, take and record vitals and history
  • Prepare treatment and consultation rooms and assist during in-office procedures
  • Manage stocking, supply inventory, and ordering
  • Support general clinical workflow and front-of-house clinical needs as required

Requirements

  • Documented experience as a surgical scrub technician (facial / plastic surgery experience strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of SPD standards, sterile processing, and autoclave operation
  • Familiarity with instrument washing, organization, and tray management
  • Strong understanding of aseptic technique and OR safety
  • Medical assisting experience and comfort with clinical duties
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a high-standard, low-volume boutique setting
