Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of the electrical and electronic systems supporting an established industrial instrumentation product line.

This is a high autonomy position for an experienced engineer capable of operating as the organization's primary electrical engineering resource. You will evaluate existing schematics and circuitry, understand how current products operate, troubleshoot issues, manage component obsolescence, and make sound engineering decisions with limited technical oversight.

Several projects have been deferred while this position has been open, creating an immediate opportunity to take ownership and make an impact. The organization is also preparing for development of its next generation meter platform. An outside engineering partner will support the primary development effort, while this individual will serve as the internal technical expert responsible for understanding the new design, supporting its transition into the organization, and maintaining it throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and support the electrical and electronic design of existing industrial instrumentation products, including schematics, circuitry, components, and supporting documentation
• Lead electrical engineering support for product upgrades, new product development, and the introduction and sustainment of next generation products
• Manage electronic component obsolescence by identifying replacement components, evaluating design implications, updating drawings and documentation, and supporting last time buy decisions when appropriate
• Maintain, improve, and upgrade electronic hardware while troubleshooting product performance, manufacturing, and field related electrical issues
• Support hazardous area and electrical certifications, including ATEX, IECEx, Class I Division 2 US and Canadian requirements, EMI, EMC, and applicable EN 60079 standards
• Partner with manufacturing to evaluate incoming electronics, troubleshoot returned products, and maintain electronic test stations and related production equipment
• Configure, program, document, and troubleshoot third party instrumentation while providing technical support for field and customer applications
• Work with Sales and Operations to define and source cabling, glands, junction boxes, instrumentation, and other electrical components required for custom applications
• Maintain technical documentation including schematics, user manuals, technical bulletins, assembly instructions, repair documentation, and engineering records
• Monitor changes to applicable electrical and hazardous area standards and determine their impact on existing and future product designs

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
• Approximately ten or more years of electrical or electronics product design experience preferred
• Strong hands on experience with electronic circuitry and the ability to independently interpret schematics, understand existing designs, and troubleshoot electronic systems
• Experience supporting electrical or electronic products throughout the lifecycle, including design, production, component changes, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering
• Knowledge of electrical standards involving EMI, EMC, product safety, or hazardous area certifications
• Ability to operate as a self directed technical expert with minimal supervision and make engineering decisions affecting product quality, certification, and project execution

Highly Relevant Experience:
• Industrial instrumentation and measurement systems
• Electronic circuit and hardware design
• Component obsolescence and sustaining engineering
• Hazardous location equipment
• ATEX, IECEx, Class I Division 2, or EN 60079 standards
• EMI and EMC compliance
• Electronic test equipment and manufacturing test stations
• Sensors, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition
• Industrial manufacturing equipment
• Product certification and regulatory compliance
• Electrical and mechanical system integration

Benefits and Perks:
• Base salary of $100,000 to $150,000
• Comprehensive benefits package
• Long term career stability
• High level of technical autonomy and ownership
• Exposure to both existing product sustainment and next generation product development
• Opportunity to serve as the organization's senior electrical engineering resource

Your New Organization:
Our client develops and supports specialized industrial measurement and instrumentation products used in demanding operating environments. The engineering organization is intentionally lean, giving experienced engineers broad technical ownership and direct interaction with manufacturing, supply chain, operations, customers, and outside engineering partners.

This position is particularly important because there is not another electrical engineer internally who will be responsible for teaching the fundamentals of the discipline. The organization can train the successful candidate on its specific products and applications, but the electrical engineering expertise needs to come with the person walking through the door.

For an experienced engineer who enjoys being the technical resource others rely on, rather than one engineer within a large specialized department, this role offers substantial ownership, autonomy, and visibility.

Your Career Partner:
The Reserves Network, a veteran founded and family owned company, specializes in connecting exceptional talent with rewarding opportunities. With extensive industry experience, we are dedicated to helping you achieve your professional goals and shine in your field.

The Reserves Network values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply. As an equal opportunity employer, we foster an environment of respect, integrity, and trust in every aspect of employment.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and internal pay equity. Please note that hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
