Corporate Attorney / In-House Counsel

LMI Group LLC is seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney / In-House Counsel to provide practical legal support across our business operations. This position is less about courtroom work and more about helping the company make sound decisions, manage contracts, reduce risk, and handle legal matters that come up in the normal course of running a transportation and logistics business.

We’re looking for someone who can explain legal issues clearly and provide workable solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

The Work

• Review, draft, and negotiate customer, vendor, carrier, and service agreements.
• Advise management on contractual obligations, business risk, and day-to-day legal questions.
• Review proposed business arrangements before agreements are signed.
• Assist with transportation, regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters affecting company operations.
• Handle contract disputes and work toward practical resolutions when disagreements arise.
• Coordinate with outside counsel when a matter requires specialized representation.
• Help maintain corporate records, policies, agreements, and other legal documentation.
• Keep management informed when regulatory or legal developments could affect the business.

What We’re Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• Prior corporate, commercial, transportation, logistics, or in-house legal experience preferred.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Able to give clear legal guidance to people who do not work in the legal field.
• Good judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and managing several matters at once.
