Manufacturing Tech – Laminating
Position Summary
Our client is looking for detail-oriented Manufacturing Technicians to assist with the production of aerospace molds, tooling, and composite components. This hands-on role includes composite layup, vacuum bagging, mold preparation, bonding, and curing processes. Ideal candidates will bring strong mechanical aptitude, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to carefully follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform wet layup and apply composite materials to molds with accuracy and consistency
- Prepare molds by cleaning, sealing, and applying appropriate release agents
- Laminate and vacuum bag parts in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards
- Support secondary bonding, potting, curing, and related composite manufacturing operations
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and standard fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Read and follow travelers, build manuals, work instructions, inspection documents, and technical drawings
- Cure composite parts using ovens, autoclaves, presses, and other approved equipment
- Adhere to internal, customer, FAA, and aerospace quality requirements
- Complete assigned work while meeting established quality, safety, and production standards
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience
- About 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude, solid hands-on ability, and a sharp eye for detail
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, and written work instructions
- Experience or comfort using hand and power tools such as drills, sanders, and grinders
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in composite manufacturing or a similar hands-on production setting
- Familiarity with laminating, layup, or vacuum bagging processes
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of composite materials, fabrication methods, and related manufacturing processes
Employment Type & Compensation
Type of Employment: Full-Time
Compensation: $22.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
Work Schedule
1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
