Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will assess respiratory conditions, administer treatments, manage ventilated patients, perform diagnostic procedures, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through NBRC

  • Current BLS Certification

  • Current ACLS Certification

  • Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and ventilator management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • NRP Certification

  • PALS Certification

  • PEARS Certification

  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients and administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen and aerosol therapy.

  • Manage mechanically ventilated patients and monitor respiratory status.

  • Perform arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function testing.

  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and treatment records.

  • Assist physicians with bronchoscopies and other respiratory procedures.

  • Inspect, maintain, and prepare respiratory therapy equipment.

  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and assist with staff training as needed.
