Aspire Senior Living Malden is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As part of our skilled nursing facility, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their full potential through personalized occupational therapy services. Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive function

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments, evaluations, and treatments, as directed by the occupational therapist

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and develop effective care plans

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments, progress notes, and reports

  • Utilize evidence-based practices and techniques to promote resident independence, safety, and well-being

Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Missouri

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred

  • Experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation settings, with a focus on geriatric populations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate residents as needed; must be physically able to perform duties with minimal assistance
