Our certified hand therapist serves patients by providing specialized therapy treatment and evaluation in accordance with the Hand Therapy Certification Commission focusing on the dysfunctions/ disorders of the distal upper extremity and hand.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Perform initial evaluations and progress evaluations.
  • Perform Splint evaluations and manufacture/ issue the clinically appropriate splint/ device.
  • Provide patient treatment as indicated.
  • Develop plan of care for each patient.
  • Provide Home Exercise Program (HEP) for each individual patient.
  • Perform daily documentation for each patient visit within the time frame specified by departmental policy.
  • Provide patient reassessments for insurance companies and physicians.
  • Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Direct therapy aides.
  • Work with therapy reception staff to ensure timely filing of documentation and proper scheduling of patients.
  • Complete all discharge summaries of each patient within the time frame specified by department.
  • Establish goals and objectives for each patient.
  • Complete all necessary requirements to maintain current CHT certification/ credentials.
  • Complete all required Continuing Education Units (CEU's) to maintain primary therapy license.
  • Confers with members of therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
  • Manages caseload accordingly with regards to intensity, demand, and frequency.
  • Participate in marketing and community outreach efforts.
  • Perform other duties as requested/directed.

Requirements
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Accept a background and drug check to be performed
Must possess current, valid Certified Hand Therapist credentials as issued by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission
Must possess a current State of New Jersey Occupational or Physical Therapy License.
