Sterling Engineering is looking for a Civil Designer in Houston, TX. This opportunity is supporting large-scale land development, roadway, drainage, and civil infrastructure projects, including oil & gas and midstream facilities.
Job Duties:
- Assist in the development of 3D models for grading surfaces, roads, paving, and drainage systems using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Create and utilize 3D grading surfaces and perform earthwork volume calculations.
- Develop civil design packages and construction documents for land development and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Produce detailed drawings and models using the full functionality of Civil 3D.
- Support roadway, drainage, grading, and site development projects.
- Assist in solving complex design challenges while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Communicate project status and collaborate effectively with project teams.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- 2–4+ years of experience in civil design supporting land development, roadway design, and civil engineering projects.
- Experience with oil & gas facilities and/or midstream projects is preferred.
- Strong background in site civil design, grading, drainage systems, roads, and paving.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is required.
- Experience creating and utilizing 3D grading surfaces is required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
