We are committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement, and we take pride in investing in skilled trades and modern equipment.Position SummaryThe EDM Wire Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Wire EDM equipment to produce precision tooling and components to print. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining tight tolerances in a tool room environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate Wire EDM machines to manufacture precision tooling and componentsInterpret engineering drawings, prints, and GD&T to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirementsCreate, modify, and optimize EDM programs using CAD/CAM or machine‑based programmingSelect appropriate wire, offsets, skim passes, taper controls, and flushing parametersInspect parts using precision measuring equipment and maintain accurate documentationTroubleshoot wire breaks, taper errors, flushing issues, and surface finish concernsPerform routine EDM machine maintenance (wire, filters, resin, conductivity)Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety rules, quality standards, and policiesCommunicate effectively with supervisors, quality, and tool room team membersQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required2+ years of Wire EDM experience in a manufacturing or tool room environment preferredStrong ability to read prints and apply GD&TExperience with EDM programming (CAD/CAM or conversational)Familiarity with tool steels, stainless steel, aluminum, and/or carbideExperience with EDM equipment such as Makino, Mitsubishi, Sodick, Fanuc, or similar preferredAbility to work independently and troubleshoot machining issuesStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 35 lbsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shiftAbility to safely work in a manufacturing/tool room environmentWhy Join Harvey VogelModern equipment and clean tool room environmentStable workload with challenging precision workCompetitive pay with shift differential for 2nd shiftComprehensive benefits package including:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany‑paid basic life insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid time off, sick time, and paid holidaysOpportunities for skill development and cross‑trainingEqual Employment OpportunityHarvey Vogel Manufacturing Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
