Position Overview:The Orbital Welder will support our Production Department by welding high and ultra high purity gas delivery system components using semi-automatic orbital welding equipment. This position works in a clean-room environment and requires an understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers. The candidate must have good manual dexterity, experience with mechanical assembly and manufacturing measuring and math skills.Responsibilities Include:Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and proceduresPosition, align, and set-up components according to specificationsIdentify faulty components and/or test and inspect welded surfaces for qualitySafely operate orbital welding equipmentPerform standard welding proceduresComplete production paperwork and recordkeepingMaintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)Willing to work overtime as requiredEffectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources Essential Skills:Quality/detail oriented with the ability to achieve repeatable resultsStrong mechanical aptitudeExcellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle small instruments and componentsStrong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlinesRequirements:Must have good vision and dexterityMust be able to sit throughout the day for extended periods of timeBe able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitivelyHigh School degree preferred1-2 years' experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environmentAbility to lift 50 lbs.
