Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform clinical skills such as vital signs, EKG, Injections, phlebotomy, and documentation in EMR system.
Responsibilities:
Prep charts prior to patient visit
Room patients, take vital signs, history, review medications, document and update chart in EMR.
Assure lab and test results are in chart prior to provider seeing patient.
Give injections, ear lavages, EKG's, suture removal
Obtain preauthorizations for medications
Prep patients for annual wellness visits, physicals, and pre-ops
Return calls to patients and instruct patient on doctors recommendations.
Communicate with physicians and NP's patient needs.
Review that patients are up to date with preventative studies (HEDIS) and document as needed
Complete paperwork requested by insurance companies, patients, etc
Cross train between front and back office.
Work as a team with coworkers

Qualifications:
- 1 year experience as a certified medical assistant
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to work as a team player
