Construction Project Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain project documentation, including job site files, drawing logs, RFIs, and submittals
- Manage document control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and distribution of project information
- Utilize Procore construction management software for file management, reporting, and communication
- Coordinate the distribution and tracking of subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and field-generated documentation
- Support quality control (QC) processes, including inspection, punch list, and compliance document tracking
- Support RFI and submittal processes, ensuring timely responses and project continuity
- Assist with preconstruction activities, including bid & buyout support and plan/specification distribution
- Collaborate with superintendents and project managers to resolve project issues and maintain schedule
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Prepare project closeout documentation, including O&M manuals and final deliverables
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Honesty and dependability
- Must be able to pass government security clearance requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Procore and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with construction scheduling (Primavera P6 or OPC a plus)
- Experience with USACE projects and Resident Management System (RMS)
