  • Review electrical equipment such as switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, panelboards, generators, UPS systems, controls, and power-distribution components.
  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general construction submittals to identify conflicts, missing information, and trade-interface issues.
  • Maintain submittal logs, Requests for Information, action-item lists, document revisions, and project closeout records.
  • Prepare professional daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for customers and project leadership.
  • Develop electrical single-line diagrams, block diagrams, equipment layouts, workflow diagrams, field sketches, and other technical illustrations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, project managers, field personnel, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Track schedules, deliverables, procurement status, approvals, and outstanding technical decisions.
  • Lead or participate in customer meetings and provide accurate project-status updates.
  • Support site inspections, equipment testing, commissioning, startup, outage coordination, and project closeout.
  • Review vendor responses and revised submittals to confirm that previous comments have been addressed.
  • Identify technical or schedule risks and communicate them before they affect project performance.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and government representatives.
  • Follow applicable OSHA, NEC, NFPA, mechanical, plumbing, safety, and project-specific requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of experience with MEP construction, technical submittal review, project engineering, or construction project coordination.
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment and power-distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical data.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and general construction systems.
  • Excellent technical writing, reporting, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create clear technical diagrams, field sketches, and presentations.
  • Strong project-management, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors, submittals, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ability to learn new equipment, systems, and technical requirements quickly.
  • Strong customer-service and relationship-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
  • Ability to satisfy federal facility-access and background-screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal, healthcare, mission-critical, industrial, or secure facilities.
  • Experience reviewing switchgear, breaker-testing, generator, control-system, and commissioning documentation.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar project-documentation tools.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, building automation, industrial controls, or power-monitoring systems.
  • Experience preparing RFIs, technical memoranda, meeting minutes, commissioning reports, and project-closeout packages.
  • Project Management Professional, Engineer-in-Training, OSHA 30, or comparable certification.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an in-person position supporting projects in Bethesda, Maryland, and surrounding locations.
  • Work will include office-based technical review and periodic visits to active construction or industrial sites.
  • Some night, weekend, or outage-related work may be required.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working around operating electrical and mechanical equipment while following all required safety procedures.

Benefits

  • Professional growth opportunities
  • Exposure to complex electrical and MEP projects
