Jefferson EHN Registered Nurse - Full Time, Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Job Description
The Jefferson EHN Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) plays a vital role in ensuring safe and effective post-operative recovery for patients. This full-time position requires collaboration with surgical teams while providing independent patient care. Nurses in this role focus on patient monitoring, pain management, and discharge planning during standard shift hours, with on-call availability required. The position offers opportunities for professional development and involves the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems to support accurate and timely documentation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient recovery and vital signs after anesthesia
- Manage post-operative pain effectively and appropriately
- Assess and document patient conditions using EHR systems
- Administer medications safely according to protocols
- Educate patients on post-discharge care and recovery
- Plan and coordinate patient discharge with surgical teams
- Respond promptly to emergencies in the PACU
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in post-anesthesia nursing
