Medical Front Desk Receptionist

We are seeking a dependable and personable Front Desk Receptionist to join our small, fast-paced, and staff-friendly primary care office. This role focuses on in-office patient support and administrative functions. The position does not require answering incoming patient phone calls and primarily involves check-in/check-out duties, insurance verification, and accurate data entry using the Athena EMR system.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival

Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures

Verify and update insurance eligibility and coverage

Accurately enter and maintain patient demographics and registration information

Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances at time of service

Post payments and provide receipts as needed

Utilize Athena EMR for scheduling support, documentation, and data entry

Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Communicate effectively with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area

Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical front desk or healthcare administrative role preferred

Familiarity with Athena EMR strongly preferred

Knowledge of insurance verification, copay collection, and patient registration

Strong data entry and attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
