Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our busy surgical practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and administrative skills, thrive in a high-volume environment, and provide compassionate, efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
- Coordinate with providers, front desk, and billing team for seamless patient flow
- Manage patient follow-up, referrals, and documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years experience as a Medical Assistant (required)
- Experience in orthopedics, spine, or surgical practice (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of EMR systems (Modmed preferred)
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care standards
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
