Cashier Clerk

Full Time -1st shift

$11 - $16 hourly (DOE)

Job Description:

The Cashier role in our customer-facing wholesale team should be organized, responsible and trustworthy. This position involves handling cash payments with customers, maintaining financial records, and ensuring a smooth and friendly checkout experience. A Cashier should have a keen eye for detail, strong numerical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Will also assist with administrative support in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate administrative operations.

Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Greet customers and answer their questions in a friendly manner.
• Process sales transactions, which may include cash, checks, cards, and other digital payments
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
• Handle product returns and exchanges efficiently
• Operating office equipment, answering phones, taking and relaying messages
• Proficient skills in using computer-based systems, programs, and reports
• Sorting and filing paperwork
• Assists other department staff as necessary
• Perform other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

• Cashier experience (at least 6 months)
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Good time management skills
• Previous produce industry experience preferred
• Ability to stay calm when customers are stressed or upset
• Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Attentional to detail and mathematical skills
• Great customer service skills
• Proficient skills in using computer-based systems, programs, and reports
• Must satisfactorily pass a drug test
• Background check clearance
