Direct Support Professional Caregiver

Liberty Life Skills (LLS) is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Direct Support Professional to provide support services to an adult with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. The DSP will work as part of a team to provide enhanced supervision, behavioral support, community integration, and assistance with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and personal choice.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and supervision in the home and community.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meal preparation, grocery shopping, budgeting, household cleaning, and organization.
• Implement individualized support strategies and behavior intervention techniques.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques during periods of emotional distress or behavioral escalation.
• Support participation in community activities, appointments, recreational outings, and social opportunities.
• Monitor health, safety, and overall well-being.
• Maintain professional boundaries and follow all agency policies and procedures.
• Complete daily documentation, progress notes, and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, family members, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Promote self-determination, independence, and person-centered services.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to pass criminal background clearance.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, or mental health needs preferred.
