Medical Assistant / Office Assistant (Cross-Trained)

needed, immediately, for a small, patient-centered medical practice. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and highly organized team member to join our growing office. This position combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities and is ideal for someone who, not only, enjoys working closely with patients, but also, helps to keep the office running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities -

-- Clinical Duties:

• Room patients and obtain vital signs

• Assist providers with patient care and office procedures

• Administer injections

• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and the proper use of at-home injectable medications

• Process prescription refill requests and assist with medication management as directed by providers

• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)

• Assist with prior authorizations and medication-related paperwork as needed

-- Administrative Duties

• Coordinate and schedule new patient referrals

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries

• Verify insurance information and benefits

• Obtain medical records and coordinate communication with referring providers

• Assist with patient check-in and check-out

• Collect copay's and payments when applicable

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation


-- Team Support

• Cross-train in front-office responsibilities

• Provide coverage for front-desk staff during absences

• Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure excellent patient care and efficient office operations

• Assist with other duties as needed in a small-practice environment

-- Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or relevant medical office experience preferred

• Strong communication and patient education skills

• Experience with scheduling and EHR systems preferred

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment

• Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor

• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
