Optometric Assistant

M.eye Vision Care & Eyeware os looking to hire a dedicated and detail oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate witll play a crucial role in supporting Dr. Maroun and associates by assisting in patient care, prform preliminary testing and manage medical records. The position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical environment.

Duties

• Assist Optometrist during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
• Record patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in complience wit h HIPPA regulations.
• Perform various diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, retinal imaging and advanced biometric tests.
• Educate patients on contact lens care, eyewear options and post examination instructions.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flowwithin the clinic.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examnation roomsand equipment, following aseptic techniques.
• Process insurance claims and assist with medical billing as needed.
• Stay updated on ophtalmological advancements and clinical protocols.

Skills

• Proficient understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and ophthalmology.
• Experience with medical records management and familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic and Eyefinity.
• Knowledge of medical coding practices relevant to optometric services.
• Strong attention to detail and abiltiy to maintain accurate documentation.
• Excellent communication skillsfor effective patient interaction.
• Familiarity with optical equipment and procedures is a plus.
• Ability to work collaborativelyin a fast paced clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Again this is the ideal candidate but we are more than capable to train candidtates up to these standards. Previous exprience is a plus and not mandatory. Only the willingness to learn quickly is the prime quality we are looking for in a candidate.
